Ten Ways To Become Involved

  1. Talk to a few friends and the religious leader form your faith community about JOSHUA and invite them to attend an information event with you.
  2. Invite a speaker from JOSHUA to speak at an adult forum, Sunday School Class, social justice committee, or just a few people who would be willing to get together.
  3. Ask to have a religious leader from JOSHUA's religious leader's caucus speak to your religious leader about JOSHUA.
  4. Attend JOSHUA events; sign up to receive announcements through our e-mail list.
  5. Attend JOSHUA trainings or ask to have the trainings brought to your church.
  6. Keep talking to other people in your faith community until you have enough (6 to 10 depending on the size of your church) to form an active group of people willing to form a JOSHUA ministry team (core team) and begin meeting on a regularly scheduled basis.
  7. Get the support of your congregation for the JOSHUA ministry in whatever way is appropriate for your faith community.
  8. Select a person from your team to be on JOSHUA's board of directors.
  9. Arrange for your religious leader to be a part of the religious leader's caucus.
  10. Pay JOSHUA dues.
Your faith community will then be recognized as a covenanting member of JOSHUA and will be engaged in the process of both being of service to your congregation and bringing your congregation's voice into the public arena on issues of justice.
